Stompin’ on the Quomps is a free, family-friendly jazz and music festival held on Christchurch Quay on 1 August 2026. Staged outdoors beside the water on the riverside green known locally as the Quomps, it brings live bands and a relaxed summer atmosphere to one of the prettiest spots on the coast near Bournemouth.
What to expect
The day is built around live jazz and music, played out against the backdrop of the River Stour and the meadows that run down to the water. It’s an easy-going, all-ages affair — a place to spread out a blanket, listen to the bands and enjoy food and drink from the stalls that typically line the quay. Line-ups and set times are confirmed nearer the date.
Planning your visit
Christchurch Quay sits a short walk from the historic Priory and town centre, with Bournemouth and the wider coast close by. As a popular free event on a summer weekend it can get busy, so it’s worth planning parking or public transport in advance. Check the event’s official listing for the latest times and any updates before you set off.
